Kitchen / Dining Area

Designed around  the original bread oven and the original threshing gearing, the open plan kitchen and dining area is fully equipped and offers all modern Bosch appliances (Washing machine, Dishwasher, Fridge, Freezer, Oven, Hob) along with a coffee machine for an early morning espresso. The tiled floor and stone walls makes it ideal for those hot summer days with a large farmhouse dining table and chairs and a door out to the patio area.

Lounge

The double aspect living room has a cosy feel with tiled floors, exposed beams and part-exposed stone walls with direct access to the dedicated patio outside. There is a  sofa, chairs, wide-screen TV with HD Satellite reception of UK Freesat Channels, French TV Channels, DVD player and  Music Speaker.

Stairs rising from the dining area lead to the first floor landing , which has a small feature window, sloping ceiling, roof light and storage cupboards. The stairwell and landing have exposed oak beams and solid oak features.

Bedrooms

​

The Master king-size bedroom with an oak king-size bed, high sloping ceiling, exposed beams, wooden floor, part-exposed stone walls and floor to ceiling window with ornate Juliette balcony overlooking the garden and countryside beyond. The beautifully tiled and generously proportioned ensuite with quality fittings, large double-size shower, contemporary twin wash hand basins, heated towel rail and w.c.

The twin bedroom with its own juliette balcony and south facing views also has its own en-suite facilities; a modern bath with overhead shower, w.c., heated towel rail and wash hand basin.

Patio

​

Accessed via both the dining area and lounge, there is a dedicated patio with electrically operated large sun awning, a glass dining table, chairs and a gas BBQ (gas provided) for al fresco dining on those warm summer evenings. There is also a three-person swing seat and shade for relaxing, reading a book or for watching the stars at night.

Gardens & Surrounding Countryside

The large garden is mostly laid to grass, with a number of fruit trees and seating areas dotted about. This area includes volleyball / badminton net, petanque court, croquet lawn, football mini-goals a 14ft trampoline (with safety net) and a Cornilleau table tennis table (with overhead shade) available to all guests. Racquets, bats/balls, boules, croquet equipment etc. are all provided. 

​

For the younger guests, a fenced in safe Play Park with baby and toddler swings, slide, see-saw, rope ladder and mini-climbing wall. There is a decking area for parents to relax whilst the children play and the Play Park is surrounded by a pretty picket fence for added security.

​

There is a large (13 x 6m) heated swimming pool (End of May to mid-September) with depths ranging from 2.5m  to 1 m and walk-in steps for those who like to ease themselves in gently. An adjoining poolside terrace with sun loungers and two retractable sun parasols offers shade from the midday sun.

 

The summer terrace provides another welcome shaded area overlooking the pool, a perfect spot for supervising the children enjoying themselves in the water, to dine al fresco on warm evenings, or to simply relax with a good book in the hammock . The summer terrace is equipped with a sofa, table football, dart board, fridge, large family dining table and chairs.

A small well equipped gym (exercise bike, running machine, cross trainer, bench press, matted area with exercise ball and small selection of dumbells) is available to all guests at no extra charge. Sauna room featuring a timber Swedish-style four person sauna (additional charge), changing area with a beautiful tiled stone floor, exposed stone walls and a cold water shower to cool you down after your session.

The property is surrounded by beautiful Charente countryside and by farmland.

Parking and garages

 

Ample parking is available adjacent to the gite and additional under cover parking is available on request.​
