This place is superb. The attention to detail and the amount of baby and toddler kit is simply astounding. It is a perfect stay when you have young children. The house is spacious, clean, renovated with taste. The quality of the bedding and towels are luxury hotel level and there is so much attention to details from the hosts. You can literally drive there and unpack your luggage and that is it. No need to get anything else. Everything you need in a holiday home is provided (including laundry tablets and dishwasher tablets) and the same for children stuff (night blinds, night lamp, bath toys, children bath bubble, so many toys for all different ages I can’t even start to describe). All kitchen and household appliances work (including high quality kitchen knives) very well and are easy to use. The hosts are simply lovely and courtois and hospitable. Thank you for a wonderful stay. You made our lives easier and that is no small feat when you travel with a 1 and 3 years old. Finally the garden is huge, very nicely landscaped with lots of play facilities for babies and toddlers. Adults are also provided for with jeux de boule facilities, crocket and cricket, badminton and football. We didn’t try the swimming pool because it was too early in the year to try it but it looked magnificent and set up looked great.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Ruth & Allan are wonderful hosts. They are 200% available but never intrusive. They are interesting, open minded, respectful and caring. We felt very welcome. Not only thanks to the filled welcome basket and personalized notes, the fresh herbs in the garden, Ruth also makes sure you enjoy fresh flowers upon arrival. We are a family with grown up kids and all of us loved the place: the nice big pool, the different cosy “apero” spots/terraces, the gym, petanque, badminton, we used/did it all and had a lot of fun. The area around the gîte is also beautiful with very charming villages. You definitely need a car to visit. Nothing is within walking distance. We absolutely recommend the place. Allan et Ruth sont des hôtes exceptionnels, accueil très chaleureux avec plein des petites attentions. On avait tout ce qu’il fallait à la maison (sel, huile, les produits vaisselle, savon douche...) mais aussi une bouteille de vin et des œufs des poules du jardin! L’endroit paradisiaque, tres dépaysant pour des vacances détente. Maison équipe avec plein de jeux pour tous les âges, et à l’extérieur trampoline, pétanque, foot, etc, etc, etc... saune et salle de gym. La maison très propre, lumineuses et spacieuse. Nous reviendrons pour les vacances d’été !!

We stayed at Le Cerisier for only 3 nights on our way further south and would have loved to have stayed longer. So much fun for our son (trampoline, chickens, the mini car, swimming pool) and a lovely gite. Thank you for this nice and pure place and your attention. We'd love to come back sometime.

Nous avons passé un magnifique week end chez Allan et Ruth. Nous étions 3 adultes et 2 enfants. C'est un endroit exceptionnel : une vue magnifique sur la campagne, une maison propre, confortable et décorée avec beaucoup de goût, une superbe piscine, un sauna, une salle de sport, trampoline, toboggan et divers jeux pour petits et grands. C'est un endroit idéal pour des retrouvailles familiales. Allan et Ruth ont été d'une immense gentillesse avant et pendant notre séjour. Je conseille plus que vivement cette merveilleuse adresse.

We stayed here a family of 4 plus a toddler and we had a really lovely time. The barn is even nicer than the photos, and the upside down living really worked and took full advantage of that gorgeous view. Ruth and Allan's communication was great and answered any of our queries both before and during our booking. Travelling with a 16 month old is never(ever!) easy but having a gite that accommodates so much makes things so much easier (wooden cot, stair gates, monitor,high chair etc etc available). Thank you both we hope to be back in the summer to take advantage of the gorgeous pool & outside spaces.

Allan & Ruth are great hosts: excellent communication, availability, many attentions. The “gites” is a true quiet place with no neighborhood. The main living area is very beautiful and confortable. Overall it is a perfect place for a family break. We really appreciated the outdoor playground, trampoline, tennis table etc, and also a lot of games inside. We recommend!

Fantastic week. Allan and Ruth were amazing hosts going above and beyond to help and provide everything we could want for our 16month old and ourselves. Attention to detail was superb. The toddler toys and equipment were great. We did not need to have brought anything. The pool was big and accommodated the older children plus inflatables! Additional touches such as welcome pack, ice creams by the pool, beers, flowers were very much appreciated.

We booked both Le Cerisier and Le Pommier and had a fantastic week. A very peaceful rural location with beautiful countryside views. So much to do for children - brilliant pool, boules, croquet, table tennis to name but a few and a huge lawn for football, cricket etc! The accommodation is first class with great attention to detail and Allan and Ruth are amazing hosts - so generous and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend to families and others who want to enjoy a relaxing or active week in rural France - we definitely want to return to explore the area more. Great trails for walking and biking and lovely lakes nearby for kayaking etc.

Fantastic place, heavenly garden with far reaching views. Wonderful for families and kids, with all the garden games, indoor toys and of course in summer the swimming pool. Ruth and Allan were completely hospitable and so helpful with every question. Having taken over this established property in 2018 they are clearly fully engaged with this new adventure, creating improvements and adding their own touches to the house. There is so much to do here, and so many ways to chill out. For us the stay meant long days outdoors, relaxing sunsets, family meals on the terrace in April (lucky weather). Visiting the local lakes and villages, easy access to a huge supermarket 15 mins away. The kitchen is fully equipped. And we loved all the thoughtful touches of fresh flowers, a welcome note and a basket of goodies on arrival. It was a wonderful relaxing stay and we will be back without doubt.

We had an absolutely wonderful week. The gite is so well equipped and the little touches added were great! The grounds were ace and the kids had hours of fun, and they especially enjoyed the pool. Allan & Ruth were so welcoming and hospitable and really helped us settle for the week. We had great trips out to Brantôme, Angouleme and the beach at the Grand Etang, St Esteph. We loved the area, so pretty! We hope to return and the kids would love to see the chickens again!

The gite we stayed in was Le Cerisier it had everything and more. Well equipped, good location, excellent facilities and brilliant owners that couldn't do enough to help with anything. The pool and outside dining area were lovely and although we had no children there was every activity you could possibly think of for them to enjoy: football, volleyball,croquet, boules, trampoline and much more. We had a brilliant relaxing holiday and hope to return.

Marvellous gites with a remarkable garden. We stayed at the Gites at Le Tilleul for almost two weeks and what a marvellous place this is. The gites are spacious and lovely, with great rooms and living areas. There is a huge garden, with football field, badminton and a cosy toddler playground. There is a very lovely pool, with pool loungers and inflatable toys. Overlooking the pool is also a shaded summer terrace with a dining area, a hammock and a fridge. The gites are located in a very quiet rural farming area, only a short drive from the closest baker or supermarket. The château at La Rochefoucauld is one of the best in the area, situated only 10 minutes away. In the area there are a lot of activities to explore and lakes to swim in. There are lovely villages and towns all over the area, and the excellent hosts Allan and Ruth can help you select the best parts of the Charente.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday with our 3 children at Le Cerisier. The modern accommodation was clean, tidy and fully equipped - it had everything you could need on holiday. The pool and outside space/facilities were a particular attraction to us as a family and it did not disappoint. The English hosts could not have been more welcoming and ensured that we had one of our most relaxing holidays to date. We hope to be back very soon.

Plenty of things to do at the villa; pool, table tennis, darts etc... Lovely scenic location with even lovelier hosts. Gites are incredibly well kept with log fires and a full kitchen. If you're looking for an escape in the area, this is the perfect choice.

Cottage very comfortable, really well equipped, beautiful decoration (stone, exposed woodwork ...). A very large garden with slide, swing, trampoline, football cage, petanque, and all the ball games or racket possible! Ideal place for family with children. We especially liked the kind attentions of our guests: welcome basket (fresh bread, bottle of wine, cheese, fresh eggs), small bouquets of wildflowers, coloring prepared for our children, games for children arranged in the house (dinette, playmobils, kapplas, ...), many cosmetic products available ... We felt like home. No time to test the gym or the sauna. But we still borrowed books from the big library ☺️ Recycling, compost possible, chickens at the bottom of the garden.

October half term with 3 ‘well-behaved’ boys. Beautiful setting and facilities in the gites. Alan & Ruth are such friendly and helpful hosts you can just walk to their door and have a chat or to ask for help. It’s already autumn when we visited, some activities (kayaking & swimming) were not available but there were lots of beautiful surroundings & other activities to explore. Highly recommended!

An enchanted parenthesis - We had an excellent stay. The cottage is very nicely decorated, with a magnificent view over the countryside and exceptional tranquility.
